Job Description

Our client is seeking an Electrical Superintendent who will lead field operations on complex healthcare and hospital construction projects . This is a critical role responsible for managing electrical crews, coordinating with other trades, ensuring code compliance, and delivering projects on time and within budget.

Candidates can be based in District of Columbia, Maryland, Virginia, or open to travel or relocation.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversee day-to-day electrical field operations on active healthcare construction sites.
  • Supervise foremen, journeymen, and apprentices, ensuring safety, quality, and productivity.
  • Plan and coordinate installation of electrical systems, including power distribution, lighting, emergency systems, fire alarm, nurse call, and low-voltage systems.
  • Collaborate closely with project managers, general contractors, and other trades to maintain schedules and resolve field issues.
  • Interpret and implement electrical drawings, specifications, and code requirements.
  • Maintain compliance with NFPA, NEC, and hospital-specific standards (e.g., OSHPD or AHCA as applicable).
  • Conduct site safety meetings, inspections, and enforce company safety policies.
  • Assist in material procurement and coordination with vendors and suppliers.
  • Track labor hours, production rates, and change orders.

REQUIREMENTS

  • 7+ years of electrical construction experience with at least 3 years in a superintendent or foreman role.
  • Proven experience in healthcare or hospital construction is required.
  • Deep knowledge of healthcare electrical systems, including redundant power, isolation panels, and infection control procedures.
  • Strong understanding of NEC, NFPA 70E, and Joint Commission regulations.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and schedules.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
  • Willingness to travel or relocate to the DMV for project needs.
  • OSHA 30 certification preferred.
