Job Description

We’re looking for an experienced, sharp, and thoughtful financial leader to join our team as our part-time CFO , working approximately 25 hours per week, with a blend of 10 hours onsite at our facility and 15 hours remote.

Important note: this is not a side gig, consulting role, or fractional CFO role. We are looking for our CFO, just on a schedule that balances leadership responsibilities with real-world flexibility.

Our fully automated facilities in Ashtabula County, Ohio and El Paso, Texas; our talented mix of experienced platers and continuous improvement professionals, and our data-driven, systems approach to plating enable us to consistently process parts correctly and on time.

We possess the capability to plate complex and delicate parts, and we possess the flexibility to handle high-volume orders as well as small lot orders.

Summary

The CFO leads the company’s finance, accounting, and procurement functions, overseeing the infrastructure, team, and processes that enable sound decision-making and sustainable growth.

As a strategic partner to the CEO, President, and Board, the CFO assesses financial performance, identifies opportunities and risks, and recommends strategies to facilitate growth, enhance profitability, and improve operational effectiveness and efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and professionally develop the Accounting, Finance, and Procurement (AFP) team.
  • Manage all finance, accounting, and purchasing operations, ensuring timely and accurate reporting and strong internal controls.
  • Provide financial insights and strategic recommendations to the CEO, President, and Board of Directors.
  • Optimize cash management, working capital, and liquidity.
  • Oversee capital expenditure planning, tracking, and controls.
  • Manage debt facilities, banking relationships, and treasury functions.
  • Lead the annual budget process and reforecasting efforts.
  • Strengthen vendor relationships and optimize procurement operations.
  • Lead risk management efforts, including insurance programs and financial risk mitigation.
  • Develop and deliver financial presentations to the Board.
  • Drive special projects, operational improvements, and growth initiatives.

Position Type and Hours

  • Approximately 25 hours per week.
  • 2 days/week onsite (5 hours/day) at our Ashtabula County, Ohio facility.
  • 3 days/week remote (5 hours/day).

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of progressive and senior financial leadership experience
  • Expertise in procurement, cash flow, budgeting, risk management, and financial reporting.
  • Hands-on leadership style with proven team development experience.
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel; comfortable with Microsoft Word, Outlook, and ERP systems.
  • Critical math skills and proven ability to perform complex financial calculations.
  • Strong experience with data analytics and business reporting.
  • Comfortable operating in a high-energy, results-driven environment.
  • Excellent cross-functional communication skills.
  • Prior experience in manufacturing or industrial service industries.
  • Resides within approximately one hour of Ashtabula County, Ohio.

Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA, CPA, or CMA strongly preferred.
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365/Business Central.
  • Training or experience in database systems.
